FIVE CENT BUCKLEY BONES DICE CASH PAYOUT MACHINE. Similar in nature to the Bally Reliance, the Buckley Bones utilized different castings with tumbling dice decorating the front casting. An ingenious mechanism that allowed the prospective gambler to play craps and if a winner, a direct cash payout. Upon depositing a nickel, the player would depress the handle and in the left window a set of dice would appear. A 7 or an 11 is an automatic winner and a cash payout. A 2 or a 12 is an automatic loser and the game is over. All other numbers would be then become the point number so if a 5 appeared, the player would depress the handle again and a set of dice would appear in the right window. This would continue until the player “threw a 7″, thus the game would be over or until he threw his point number and became a winner. Various payouts depending upon the point. Obviously a 3 would payout much more than a 6 and awards are indicated on the front plaques of the machine. Not only is this machine visually attractive, but fun to play as well and one could easily understand this was a great money maker for the proprietor of the establishment. A very complicated mechanism, however it has been totally restored and cleaned as well as restoration to the exterior of the machine. SIZE: Approx. 15-1/2″ w x 11-1/2″ d x 13” t.
